we ran out of time. it happens: dreams are bigger than reality (and our skills). this page is still a bit messy and is not a final version. come back later, it will look different.

about the exhibition

an exhibition about transitions and the in-betweens

mabel and I both love photography, and we often talk about it. yet somehow neither of us does it consistently. one day, we decided to give ourselves permission to start and (kind of) finish a photo exhibition.

since mabel and I are both constantly in transition, there couldn’t have been a better topic for our first exhibition. we called it “not here nor there”. we built the concept, changed the concept, avoided a last-minute meltdown while hanging the photos, and now we’re ready to host our friends in my apartment and share this online version with anyone who has time to scroll and linger in the in-between with us.

mabel

“mabel is a person who brings joy to the people around her, she’s creative, kind, and absolutely amazing to be around and have long, deep conversations with. right now, like many of us, she’s living in between, in a place of uncertainty, in the not here nor there.

“looking at her photos, I always feel a sense of awe. sometimes, though, it’s hard to trust yourself and simply do what you love, but with this exhibition, mabel is allowing herself (and inviting you) to be loud, and not just whisper.”

“lidija is creative, daring and kind. her photographs offer a glimpse into the soulful world she inhabits, inviting us to look a little closer and stay a while.

“she is curious about what might happen if we gave ourselves permission to try without worrying about getting things right. through nofinalversion, she puts that curiosity into practice, inviting us to explore, to change, and to begin before we feel ready.”

about nofinalversion.

“nofinalversion has been starting since 2017, more or less. through every version I called v0, v1 or v2, it stayed private: something I kept starting and never finishing. this v2 simply means it goes public. it also comes with a slightly more consistent answer to ‘so what is nofinalversion?’, though that answer keeps changing too.

“this exhibition is the first project of the public nofinalversion.”
