Layering discomfort
This idea is about not starting by throwing yourself into depths of discomfort so deep that it drowns you. It means starting where discomfort is present but manageable, a place where joy is stronger. Then layer by layer letting joy penetrate to discomforts that once felt overwhelming. Letting joy and discomfort coexist so that discomfort always feels manageable. That’s the key to life without burnout. Holding joy with one hand and discomfort with another. Letting them coexist and create from that space and not from the space of fear.
